Overnight Street Parking Permits are available for purchase online 24 hours a day or in person between the hours of 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Below please find parking information and mandatory requirements to obtain a permit.

The City of East Orange requires a parking permit for all streets everyday of the week that allow overnight parking between the hours of 2a.m. to 6a.m. Overnight Street Parking Permits are issued to East Orange residents only that can provide the required documentation stated below. The permit allows residents to park on certain streets that is approved for overnight parking between the hours of 2a.m. to 6a.m.; with a permit, residents are still required to obey all parking rules and regulations posted.

Parking FeesThe Overnight Parking Permit Fee is $150 per car for the period of January 1st to December 31st, all permits expire on December 31st. The permit cost is pro-rated based upon the month of purchase; all permits incur a transaction fee.

All parking rules must be followed even if you have a permit to avoid being ticketed and possibly towed at the owner’s expense. Read all street signs carefully prior to parking.

Existing Permit Holders: Login to the permit portal using your existing login (your email is the username) and your password to purchase an Overnight Street Parking Permit. Please contact us if you forgot your username and password to reset it or click the forgot the password link.

You must upload the following Mandatory Documents:

1.VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE

2. VALID REGISTRATION

3.VALID AUTO INSURANCE

4.PROOF OF RESIDENCY: If the above mandatory documents do not have your East Orange address you must also upload the following documents as proof of residency:
a.Valid Lease Agreement
b.IRS Letters
c.Property Tax Bill, Deed, Property Tax Card, Mortgage Statement

5.SECONDARY PROOF OF RESIDENCY If you do not have the above documents, we will accept the following secondary documents dated within 90 days of your application:
Bank Statements
Utility Bills
Credit Card Statements

PERMIT PRICE CHART / SENIOR / DISABLED RATE AND ACCEPTED PROOF OF DISABILITY DOCUMENTS 

SENIOR & DISABILITY RATE IS $75.00 PLUS APPLICABLE FEES

PROOF FOR SENIOR RATE – Residents must be age 65 years old to qualify for the senior rate; the age will be verified based upon the driver’s license submitted.

PROOF OF DISABILITY – FOR DISABLED PERMITS Residents must submit a valid Disability Card issued by the NJDMV and/or an approved letter from the Social Security Administration as proof of disability in addition to the required documents.
